$15 million converted from
uninsured to ACA insured in 2 years

Overview
Overview A rapidly growing Health System in the upper Midwest that serves thousands of families across 35 counties identified a significant challenge: many uninsured families relied on their facilities for care but lacked access to follow-up and preventative services due to financial constraints. This gap in coverage hindered their ability to achieve better health outcomes.
Solution
In 2022, this Health Systsem partnered with RevOne’s WellFund team to address this issue. The WellFund quickly got to work by analyzing its uninsured patient population to identify gaps, and implementing a multi-channel communication strategy. Using letters, texts, phone calls, and direct voicemails, they educated these patients on affordable insurance options and premium assistance programs. The goal was to reach hard-to-contact families and ensure they understood the resources available to them.
Results
Since the program’s inception in 2022, the WellFund has successfully enrolled over 500 families in ACA Marketplace plans, many of whom now pay $0 in premiums thanks to expanded options. This initiative has helped the Health System transform over $15 million in what would have been written-off as bad debt into insurance revenue.
More importantly, these 500 families now have the dignity of paying for their care and are scheduling essential primary care visits. This access to care is allowing them to live healthier, longer lives. For the Health System, this collaboration supports its mission of doing “what’s best for each person,” ensuring that families receive the care they need to thrive.
